AKA Marti. I am currently an illustrator and animator for a company that produces multimedia CD-ROM based and online training programs. All my life from as early as I can remember I've wanted to be an artist. For many years I exhibited and painted on commission. I've had many different careers throughout my life, but it wasn't until I began working with my current company that I felt very fulfilled. I am constantly learning and growing since our work is varied and ever evolving. When at the canvas I most enjoy surrealism and like bringing the viewer's focus to the microcosms often missed when our busy lives leave us seeing only the big and most obvious picture. The wandering imaginings that provoke philosophical thought are what draw me and ultimately I draw them. To me, art is a vehicle for self analysis with doodles being subconscious surfacings.
I was raised by a Mother who is a fiber artist and always had many art supplies in the house to experiment and play with. Being that my Mother was an artist, I had the opportunity to visit many museums with her in the San Francisco/ Bay area. I was exposed to many different mediums of art in the 1960s and 1970s. I loved to play when I was painting, weaving or doing ceramics as a child. I discovered painting with watercolors 10 years ago. I fell in love with the watercolor medium. Watercolors are magical to me. I am enchanted by the way the medium moves with the flow of the water. I still play when I paint. It is like a joyful meditation to me and I am lost in the moment of creativity.
I live in Northeastern Pennsylvania. I am a member of the Bethlehem Palette club, the Lehigh Art Alliance, the Banana Factory and the Parkland Art League. I have participated in many juried shows in the Lehigh Valley.
I adore color! Colors always sing to me. I try to share my love of natures amazing colors in all my watercolor paintings. Enjoy!
As a commercial airline pilot I am fortunate for the awe-inspiring photo opportunities I've had over the years. Not until recently have I committed to capturing the magnificent vistas I see every day on film. I am excited to share these unique perspectives with other photography enthusiasts.
